What happens to what
| If you have | What remove.bg says |
|---|---|
| An account | The website and accounts will not be accessible after 1 December 2026, 9:00 am CET. Export your invoices and your credit usage report before then.1 |
| An annual subscription | It works until that moment, then ends. You get a pro-rata refund for unused time to your original payment method, with nothing to do on your side.1 |
| A monthly subscription | It works until that moment, then ends. Any final renewal on or after 1 November 2026 is free.1 |
| Pay-as-you-go credits | Unused credits expire on 1 December 2026.1 |
| The self-service API | It stops accepting requests from 1 December 2026. The same background removal is offered through Leonardo.Ai’s API.1 |
| An enterprise API contract | Not affected. Contracts continue as normal.1 |
| The Photoshop plugin | Not available after 1 December 2026.1 |
| Other integrations and plugins | Discontinued on 1 December 2026.1 |
What remove.bg suggests instead
- For single images and for batches: Canva’s Background Remover, which remove.bg says uses the same technology.1
- For the desktop app: Canva’s bulk background removal, on the web or in the Canva desktop app.1
- For large volumes or automated work: Leonardo.Ai’s API.1
If you used it for product photos
For listing photos on a white background, this tool needs no account. It takes the background off on your own device, puts the product on white, and gives you 1024 × 1024 square or 1080 × 1440 in 3:4, up to 30 photos at a time.
It does not make transparent PNG files, and it has no API. If you need either one, follow remove.bg’s own suggestions above.
